  • In November 2022, Scientists at IIT Madras developed a technique to make new generation super-abrasive tools. Amitava Ghosh's research team at IIT Madras used advanced chemical bonding technology with an application-specific innovative filler material formulation, as well as an indigenously created semi-automatic grit-printing system, to manage the spacing of grits on tools.  An indigenous technology developed at IIT Madras can now generate new-generation super-abrasive tools for advanced grinding applications, meeting high productivity and energy-efficient material removal needs.
