Recent News:
- Against the backdrop of a Donald Trump administration in the United States and a crucial COP29 that is set to start next week in Baku, Azerbaijan, the Global Solar Council is leading the global solar industry in celebrating the achievement of 2 TW of installed solar PV capacity, in November 2024. Due to significant cost reductions brought about by the exponential growth in solar energy deployment in recent years, solar is now the most affordable energy source accessible to consumers in many nations worldwide.
- A multi-year strategic sourcing agreement was signed between Imperial Star Solar, a Texas-based producer of solar PV modules built in the United States, and Suniva, the biggest and most established producer of high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon solar cells in the United States, in November 2024. As per the deal, Imperial Star will integrate Suniva's domestically produced solar cells into its domestically produced solar modules, which will be available for purchase in the first half of 2025.
- The new 6 MVA, 2000-volt direct current utility-scale inverter from GE Vernova Inc. will be installed in North America as a multi-megawatt demonstration project, in September 2024. The goal of this project was to decarbonize and accelerate the shift to renewable energy while also substantially lowering the cost of solar energy. The business was working on this initiative in conjunction with an industry PV module provider and Shoals Technologies Group. For the solar park, Shoals Technologies would offer the electrical balance of system solutions, while GE Vernova would supply the 2000 Vdc inverter. PV modules would come from the second cooperating supplier.
- The Technique Solaire company officially took possession of a 6.2 MWp ground-mounted solar power plant project, in December 2022. This is traversed by the Himalayas, this ground-mounted park generates 7,500 MWh of green power annually, which is equal to the consumption of 32,000 Indians. This project and our first project in India (5MW), which is also in the same state, are quite similar.
