Cross Laminated Timber Market size is anticipated to be valuated at USD 6.9 Billion by 2035; Rising demand for low-emission materials to propel market growth

Published Date: July 2025

Cross laminated timber, also referred to as Cross Laminated Timber or XLam, is a pre-assembled engineered wood lumber product composed of more than two layers of solid-sawn wood or structural composite. The layers are positioned so that the neighboring layers are cross-oriented and connected by glue or mechanical attachment to produce a solid wood part.

It is primarily used when building fast on-site or when assembling prefabricated construction structures. While building projects of a similar size using traditional materials may take several weeks and require a lot more manpower, a team of six specialists can install a structure up to 14,000 square feet each day, according to Structurlam.
