Recent News:

  • Clariant revealed innovative ways to reduce the environmental impact of plastics at NPE 2024. Clariant is developing AddWorks® PPA, a PFAS-free polymer processing aid product line, and AddWorks PKG 158, a highly effective antioxidant solution with superior color protection designed exclusively for polyolefins, including recycled material. Licolub® PED 1316 is a wax used in building and construction to increase surface quality and ease of processing. The event will feature a variety of next-generation technologies that aim to enhance plastic recycling, reduce environmental impact, and boost performance.
  • Researchers will use the graft polymerization procedure in January 2024 to increase the safety of lithium batteries. A new paper published in Energy Storage Materials demonstrates efficient graft polymerization on a polypropylene (PP) separator with a uniform silicon dioxide (SiO2) layer. The discovery was made possible by Assistant Professor Jeongsik Yun of the Department of Energy and Chemical Engineering at Incheon National University. Dr. Yun was inspired by the need for high-performance battery materials in electric vehicles to increase driving range, which he has been actively investigating. Beyond improving battery efficiency, he wants to reduce consumer concerns about battery explosions, which may affect their decision to buy an electric vehicle.
