  • In March 2025, Ahlstrom, a specialist in fibre-based materials, has unveiled LamiBak Flex, the latest addition to its LamiBak collection of base papers. LamiBak Flex, tailored specifically for flexible packaging, builds upon the established success of the original LamiBak product range. The product is designed for further processing such as coating, metallisation, or extrusion, offering barrier properties for food applications such as pouches, sachets, and flow packs.
  • In October 2024, Huhtamaki announced Flexible Packaging using OmniLock Ultra Paper. In place of non-recyclable multi-layer laminates, OmniLock Ultra Paper is a fully recyclable, heat-sealable, ultra-high resistance paper. It delivers a sustainable packaging solution without losing functionality, with barriers comparable to those of conventional aluminum/plastic combinations.
  • In April 2024, Parkside recently introduced Recoflex, a series of flexible packaging materials crafted from recyclable paper which provides heat sealability, durability, and barrier performance. The latest generation of papers delivers durability, barrier performance, and heat sealability and exists in a range of specifications as single-ply or laminate. The company claims that its product is revolutionizing flexible packaging made of paper in a number of industry applications.
  • In August 2023, Curbside-recyclable AmFiber Performance Paper packaging, an element of Amcor's AmFiber portfolio, was recently launched in North America. Amcor is an international pioneer in the creation and manufacturing of responsible packaging solutions. Performance paper, which has been prequalified by How2Recycle, meets the standards for curbside recycling in terms of repulpability, enabling manufacturers to provide consumers packaging with more environmentally friendly end-of-life options.
