  • In October 2023, Veolia continues Hong Kong's ecological transition and regeneration of the city's resources after awarding a historic €2 billion contract to treat the city's non-hazardous waste. Present in Hong Kong for over 30 years and over a thousand employees, the Group works locally to decarbonize the city's operations through a variety of water, waste and energy contracts to accelerate local ecological transformation. 
  • In September 2023, WM opens a new 100,000 square foot recycling facility in Cleveland, Ohio. The facility has the latest technology and can process up to 420 tons of recyclable material per day. WM's new recycling plant technology, including glass recovery equipment,  optical sorters, packaging-free screens and ballistic separators, is designed to support the growth of recycling programs in the region and produce high quality materials for customers. Use recycled materials as raw materials to create new products.
  • In July 2023, WM begins operations at the new $35 million, 14,500-square-foot renewable natural gas plant located at the Texas-based company's Eco Vista landfill, the company announced in a press release. Construction on the new facility began two years ago and the company plans to hire 125 construction workers and four laborers to manage the 14,500 square foot facility. The new facility is expected to be fully operational by the end of May, the company said.
