  • In an effort to broaden the range of products offered by methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI), BASF introduced Lupranat ZERO (Zero Emission, Renewable Origin) in February 2022. This is the first aromatic isocyanate with zero net emissions of greenhouse gases.
  • The final phase of BASF's expansion project for its methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) production at the Verbund site in Geismar, Louisiana, is scheduled to begin in July 2022. The business started its expansion plan in 2018 and used a staged approach with three investment rounds. Between 2022 and 2025, USD 780 million will be invested in the final expansion phase.
