- PetroChina began work on a $1.2 billion ethane-to-ethylene facility in Xinjiang in September 2021. The project is expected to produce 600,000 tons of ethylene, 300,000 tons of high-density polyethylene, and 30,000 tons of full-density polyethylene every year. The project will lessen dependency on foreign processing technologies, said the business.
