- In July 2022, INEOS, announced acquisition of 50% stake in Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (SINOPEC). SECCO currently has the production capacity of 4.2 million tons of petrochemicals including ethylene, propylene, polyethylene, polypropylene, styrene, polystyrene, acrylonitrile, butadiene, benzene and toluene. This is a 200-hectare facility located inside the Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park. This will help the company increase its presence in China.
- In Hengyi Petrochemical, in 2021, announced the establishment of a naphtha separation plant that will add 80,000 TPA benzene capacity among other products. This expansion will lead to strengthening the company's position.
- In July 2020, SIBUR announced the construction of a benzene separation plant equipped with extractive distillation equipment at its Kstovo site in Russia. This extraction distillation equipment effectively separates non-aromatic hydrocarbons and significantly increases the productivity of all industries.
