• BrightFresh Microgreens, a grower of premium retail microgreens, had launched its Supergreens Micro Medley as an exclusive product which was available only at Costco, in November 2024. The company said this one-of-a-kind blend would be sold at 43 Costco locations across Southern California. The Supergreens Micro Medley was created specifically for Costco customers and was packaged in 6-ounce containers and could be used as a salad base, as a topping for sandwiches and pasta, or can blended in smoothies. The blend featured a mixture of kale, broccoli, pea greens, cabbage, beets, mustards, spinach, tatsoi and arugula.
• Faculty members in Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences had launched a new project to help agricultural producers tackle the challenges of microgreens production, in October 2024. This initiative, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture through its Northeast Extension Risk Management Education Center, provided essential education to help established and aspiring microgreens producers strengthen and diversify its businesses.
