  • In June 2024, The new 2025 Honda CR-V e:FCEV fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) was officially put into production at Honda's Performance Manufacturing Centre (PMC) in Ohio. The all-new CR-V e:FCEV is the only fuel cell vehicle produced in the nation and the first production1 hydrogen fuel cell vehicle in the country. It combines a completely new fuel cell system created in the United States with plug-in EV charging capabilities.
  • The world's most technologically advanced Green Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) Toyota Mirai was introduced in March 2022 by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari, along with Union Ministers Shri Hardeep Puri, RK Singh, and MD Shri Vikram Kirloskar, VC TKM Ltd., Shri Masakazu Yoshimura, and representatives from Toyota Kirloskar Motor Ltd. in New Delhi. Hydrogen powers the Toyota Mirai, the most sophisticated fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) in the world. A pilot project is being carried out by Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt Ltd and the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) to study and evaluate the FCEV on Indian roads and in Indian climates.  This is a first-of-its-kind initiative in India that seeks to raise awareness of the special benefits of FCEV and green hydrogen technology in order to establish a green hydrogen-based ecosystem there.
