Water Clarifier Market Overview
Clarification is the most important step in water and waste water treatment process. Clarification helps in removing the suspended solids by providing clarified liquid effluent and gravity settling. Primary clarifiers and secondary clarifiers are the two main types of clarifiers. Primary clarifiers are located downstream of grit of chambers and screening of plants. Primary clarifiers are used in separation of settle able solids from wastewater influent. Secondary clarifiers are located downstream of activated sludge facility. Secondary clarifiers are used in separation of treated wastewater from biological mass used in treatment process. Sedimentation is also known as Primary Clarifiers. Primary clarification helps in removing total suspended solids (TSS), grease and oil. Primary clarifier removes 60% suspended solids and 30-40% of BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) in which amount of oxygen is consumed by organisms. In secondary clarification the biological treatment is processed with returning of activated sludge. The biomass from organisms in the form of activated sludge is settled to the bottom in secondary clarification process. Circular clarifiers includes spiral scraper, hydraulic removal type and segmented rake. Rectangular clarifiers are present in 3 shaft and 4 shaft.
