Sternal Closure Systems Market Overview
Sternal Closure are rigid fixation device which are used for closing the sternum and breastbone. Sternal Closure are made up of biocompatible titanium alloy. Sternal Closures are available in single and double talon, single talon has a single foot plate on each side of sternum and double talon has two foot plates on each side of sternum. The sternum is closed with steel wires which are non-absorbable sutures. Sternal closures are used in paediatric cardiac surgeries. The wire used in open heart surgery are made up of titanium or stainless steel which are different cardiac devices. Sternal wires are used in surgical process to close the breastbone by following guidelines of surgical procedure on the heart. Then, the chest is closed by internal and external stitches. Median sternotomy are used in thoracic surgery for lower trachea, mediastinal and main stem bronchus surgery. Increase in surgical procedures has given rise to use of sternal closure system in market. The Global Sternal Closure Systems Market size accounted for US$ 2.3 billion in 2020 and is estimated to be US$ 3.79 billion by 2030 and is anticipated to register a CAGR of 5.6%.
