Neuroendoscopy Market Overview
Neuroendoscopy Market was valued at US$ 215 million in 2024 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of 28.90% to reach US$ 2167.2Million by 2034.Neuroendoscopy is a brain surgery for removing brain tumors. The brain surgery is performed with minimally invasive technique which is called as neuroendoscopy. Neuroendoscopy is used in treating various head, brain and spine conditions. In Neuroendoscopy instead of making a large incision in skull, a thin, flexible camera & surgical instruments are inserted through a natural opening in body or by small incision. Neuroendoscopy is a method of taking samples of tissues from brain tumor. Samples of tissue is taken and observed under microscope. Neuroendoscopy is also done for removing fluid filled spaces of brain. During neuroendoscopy the brain is accessed through small holes in skull, nose or mouth. Neuroendoscopy result in fewer complications, less pain, faster recover with minimal scarring when compared to traditional brain surgery. Neuroendoscopy helps in enabling neurosurgeons for reaching areas of brain which are accessible with traditional surgery, or to reach a brain tumor with minimal cutting of skull. The brain tumors that can be treated with minimally invasive brain surgery are – ventricular tumors, pituitary tumors, Rathke’s cleft cysts, tumors in pineal region, and tumors in base of skull. Neuroendoscopy is safer than traditional brain surgery. Neuroendoscopy is performed by using a surgical tool called as endoscope. Endoscope is a device which has high-resolution camera that helps in allowing neurosurgeon to locate better and access the brain tumor. During EEA (endoscopic endonasal approach), the neurosurgeon insert the endoscope into nasal cavity to reach the brain tumor. For removing tumor and obtaining a sample of tissue of affected area for brain biopsy, the neurosurgeon attach the surgical instruments at the end of endoscope and surgeon manipulates the instrument for removing the tumor from brain. After endoscopy an individual experience a smooth recovery and improved quality of life. Neuroendoscopy has become the useful technique which allows the neurosurgeons for performing less invasive procedures & surgical approaches that minimize the disruption to surrounding tissues. However, the technological advancement in endoscope instruments has enhanced the market growth.
Neuroendoscopy Market Drivers & Restraints
Rising prevalence of neurological disease, rise in minimally invasive surgeries, and technological advancement
Rising prevalence of neurological disease, rise in minimally invasive surgeries and technological advancement is one of the leading factors for the Neuroendoscopy Market growth. Neurological disease includes, brain tumors, acute spinal cord injury, epilepsy, learning disabilities, autism, neuromuscular disorders, cerebral palsy, etc. Age and environmental pollution has become the major factor in affecting central nervous system, which includes, nerves, spinal cord and brain. Brain cancer increases with age as it varies depending on cell type and location of tumor. Individual with compromised immune systems has increased risk of developing lymphomas of brain. Family history may affect developing certain diseases. Rapid growth in industrialization has given rise in pollution, exposure to industrial chemicals, solvents has been linked to rising risk in developing brain cancer. Exposure to radiation therapy at young age may increase the risk of developing brain cancer. Due to less pain, fewer complications and shorter hospital stay has given rise in minimally invasive surgery. New generation of surgical procedures has minimized the length of incisions and are less invasive. Minimally invasive surgery allows the patient to recover quickly with less pain. Due to technical advancement in optical systems, availability of improved instrumentation, better image quality, more tumors are operated on endoscopically. New technological advancement such as multiport endoscopic surgery, advancement in optical technology, introduction of new navigation system, innovation in surgical instrumentation, and enhanced ability for performing endoscope-assisted microsurgery with bimanual micro-dissection has benefitted the field with bright future. Thus, neuroendoscopy has become an important tool in current neurosurgery to reduce intracerebral trauma in diagnosis & treatment of intracranial lesions in children. However, the rising prevalence of neurological disease, rise in minimally invasive surgeries and technological advancement has boost the demand for Neuroendoscopy market.
Restrains:
Some kind of risk or complications are associated with endoscopy procedure which includes, severe bleeding, brain hemorrhage, infection, cerebrospinal fluid leakage, increased intracranial pressure and subdural hematoma, etc. However, complications associated with endoscopy may somewhat restrain the target market growth.
