Opaque polymers are a type of polymer material that can be used as a partial replacement for titanium dioxide (TiO2) in paint and coating products. They improve the opacity and coverage of the coating by providing opacity and light scattering properties. The TiO2 content of paints and coatings can be replaced or increased up to 35% with dull polymers. It can maintain performance and reduce raw material costs.
