Global Automotive Friction Brake System Overview
Introduction:
Friction braking is the most commonly used braking method used in the modern vehicles. It involves the conversion of kinetic energy to thermal energy by applying friction to the moving parts of a system. The friction force resists motion and in turn generates heat, eventually bringing the velocity to zero. Reinforcing fibers commonly used for brake friction materials are aramid fibers, metallic, ceramic, glass, acrylic, carbon, and other natural fibers. There are three basic types of brakes including; service brakes, emergency brakes, and parking brakes. The internal expanding brake is commonly used in motor cars and light trucks, when the brakes are applied to all the four wheels, the braking distance will be the least. Friction materials commonly consist of sintered lead bronzes and iron powders with additions of dry lubricants and so-called friction reinforces. Another commonly used brakes type is Disc brakes; they are mounted on the front and/or rear axle. To stop a wheel and your car, a disc brake uses a caliper fitted with brake pads to grab a spinning disc or rotor. The global automotive friction brake system market accounted for US$ 18.23 billion in 2020 and is estimated to be US$ 28.13 billion by 2030 and is anticipated to register a CAGR of 4.5%.
Global Automotive Friction Brake System Dynamics
Rising demand of Safety
Increasing consumer preferences on safety is the key factor driving the growth of the target market. The key manufacturers are constantly producing new and enhanced products for the comfortable and safe driving of vehicles are another factor responsible for the growth of this particular market. The surge in production of vehicle because of the growing demand and regulations passed by the government to reduce the stopping distance are some of the elements which boost the growth of the automotive brake systems market. Government regulations on the safety of people on roadways is the principle factor which propel the growth of the target market.
However, the installation of automotive braking system market involves high capital expenditure which is one of the major restraints for the market.
