Agricultural Chelates Market Overview

Chelates helps in preventing loss of nutrients by leaching. Chelates increase the mobility of nutrients in soil which enhance the uptake of nutrients by plants. Chelates can be natural or synthetic. Chelating agents are chemical compounds which react with metal ions for forming stable water-soluble complex. Chelating agents has ring-like center which helps in forming two bonds with metal ion and allows to be excreted. Chelating agent in fertilizer is micronutrients which are surrounded by large molecule called as chelator or ligand. Ligands are natural or synthetic chrmicals. EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) chelated fertilizer is used in agriculture which helps in increasing amino acid content of leaves which are more effective than ferrous sulphate. Chelate is a chemical compound which is composed of chelating agent & metal ion. Chelating agent is a multidentate ligand. Ethylenediamine is an example of chelating agent. Agricultural chelates helps in profitability of production of crops and growth of crops. EDTA gives an organic coating to the crops by surrounding inorganic nutrients in plants & ensuring safety of natural nutrients. EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid), HEDTA (n-hydroxyethylethylenediaminetriacetic acid), chlorophyll, citric acid, rubeanic acid, and malic acid are some examples of chelating agents. Cilantro is best natural chelating agent. Most commonly used chelating agent is calcium disodium ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (CaNa2EDTA). Herbal ion chelators are natural ion chelators. Ortho-Ortho EDDHA chelate are best for nutrient uptake. Nitrogen are main nutrients which are needed for growth and development of plant. Chelating agents are organic molecules which can trap or encapsulate metal ions like Fe, Ca, Mg, Mn, Zn, eu, and Co. For reducing toxic effects of metals chelating is important. Importance and benefits in crop production has given positive impact on Agricultural Chelates Market.

Agricultural Chelates Market Dynamics

Rise in demand for food products, rising population, & rate of urbanization

Rise in demand for food products, rising population & rate of urbanization is one of the leading factors for Agricultural Chelates Market. Food is the basic requirement which keep us healthy and to survive. Rising population rapidly has given rise in use of food products. Ready to cook and convenient food are high in demand. Increase in population, industrial development, economic development has caused the increase in demand for food. Rise in transport, globalization, population, economic development has given increase in global food consumption. World population has grown exponentially from last 150 years. Population of Europe is growing by 0.1% per year but African population is increasing by 2.51% per year. Urbanization has given rise in disposable income and processed food products. Due to rate of urbanization people living in urban areas are giving preference for ready to cook & ready to eat food. Increase in online delivery of food from hotels, restaurants due to busy lifestyle, fast and convenient food has increased the demand for food products. To fulfill individual needs food production is more important. Rise in population has given rise in demand for food which has led to farmer to grow higher crop production. Agriculture chelates helps in absorbing nutrients required for growth of plants. Agriculture chelates help in increasing productivity and better growth of crops. Change in pattern & volume of food consumption of many people to superior grains, rapidly growing urbanization due to industrialization has given rise in demand for rice, wheat, against millets. Disposable income has allowed individual to purchase food grains in bulk. Countries like India, South Africa and China are most populated countries in the world where demand for food is high and increasing rapidly. According to CBO’s projections, population has increased in 2022 from 335 million to 369 million till 2052. According to data published by United Nations, about 8.5 billion population may reach till 2030 & increase to 9.7 billion till 2050. According to data published by United Nations in 2018, about 55% of the world’s population resided in urban areas, and it is projected that this percentage will increase over the forecast period. However, the growth in demand for food products, rising population, and population in urban areas boosts the demand for Agricultural Chelates market.

Restrains:

However, side effects like metal leaching and its effects on soil-organisms, EDGA enhanced metal leaching can lead to ground water pollution, which may somewhat retrain the Agricultural Chelates market growth.

Agricultural Chelates Market Segmentation

Agricultural Chelates Market is segmented based on chelate type, micronutrient, application, and region.

Chelate Type Insight

On the basis of Chelate Type Agricultural Chelates Market is segmented into DTPA (diethylenetriamine pentaacetate), EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) and others. EDTA chelate has dominated the target market growth because it is commonly used and enable the higher absorption of micronutrients in plants by offering strong binding ability.

Micronutrient Insights

On the basis of Micronutrient Agricultural Chelates Market is segmented into Manganese, Zinc, and Iron.  Iron micronutrient has dominated the target market growth due to its importance in health and growth of the plant. Iron is most commonly used as micronutrient fertilizer which plays important role in metabolic process like energy transfer, DNA synthesis, photosynthesis and respiration.

Application Insights

On the basis of Application Agricultural Chelates Market is segmented into Fertigation, Foliar, Soil and others. Foliar application has dominated the target market growth because foliar application is better than soil application as it is potential to alleviate nutrient deficiency faster than soil application and can be used successfully for micronutrients and macronutrients. Foliar application provides larger benefits for poor root growth and low-mobile elements in dry soils.

Regional Insights:

Disclaimer: This data is only a representation. Actual data may vary and will be available in the report.

On region the Agricultural Chelates Market is segmented into North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Middle East & Africa. The Asia Pacific market is estimated to witness a significantly high revenue share over the forecast period, owing to growing population, especially in countries such as Europe and Asia Pacific, and technological advancements. Moreover, increase in population, increase in demand for food has led to farmer to grow higher crop production, rising focus on development of agricultural product, rising demand for chelates, rising use of fertilizers for protection of crops against plant diseases, innovation of technology in soil testing, verification of micronutrient deficiency in soil is anticipated to increase demand for Agricultural Chelates in the region.
