Jio customers will have to pay charge for calling other company’s customers such as Airtel, Idea, and Vodafone.

Three years before jio came with game changing free voice calling plane. But from today Jio will start charging costumer for calls at the rate of 6 paisa per minute to other network operator company’s costumer such as Airtel and Vodafone-Idea. These calling charges by jio are not applicable on calls made by jio users to calls other Jio phones or landline phones and also on calls using What’s up, FaceTime and other such online platforms. All Incoming calls from any networks will continue to be free.

Blaming on "regulatory uncertainty" related to inter-connect payments (IUC), Jio said it would withdraw the decision when regulator Trai dismantles the IUC payments and makes call-termination charges zero. IUC is the charge amount of money that a mobile company pays to other for connecting calls.

Jio claims that around 35 to 40 crore 2G costumer of airtel and Vodafone –Idea are giving missed calls to its costumer as it’s traffics is low and Jio resived around 25 to 35 crore missed calls on daily basis. This all huge missed call phenomena convert the incoming calls to jio to outgoing calls from jio to another operator. Because of such phenomena Jio has taken this decision to charge for such call
